This was a fun project to do! My wife had asked for an egg box to sell our surplus eggs at the top of our road now the hens are in full summer’s lay.

The design is very much focussed on being “Shetland Proof” so it even has a membrane under the shiplap and large overhangs to stop even the most persistent rain from getting in!

The floor and walls are from some really solid pallets I had and the roof is offcuts of cladding from building my workshop 2 years ago.

The text is engraved on the front and the closure is a piece of oak. The box is finished in natural woodstain and then a coat of oil to protect it.
